I was interested to watch the new rendition of the DC's IP after many people compared it to David Fincher's Se7en (1995).
So... Yeah, there were a lot of police men's silhouettes whispering in the rain and pointing flashlights directly into the camera's lens.
The film doesn't work for me because the antagonist is not interesting. The Riddler is just a stupid kid, not even cleaver in his riddles, 0 personally and his psycho does not add complexity to his character. His crimes lack imagination and the whole corruption and mafia story is just boring.
What I did like is the score of the film, they used Schubert's Ave Maria all the time in many different iterations. They distorted it and changed the scale to make it creepy. I Never thought Ave Maria could sound creepy LOL.
I also find interesting the choice of focusing on Bruce Wayne's Impotence compared to Batman's capabilities. I think it adds an interesting motivation to the protagonist.
The cinematography was boring, the action scenes redundant, the acting alright and the editing invisible.
At least it don't have stupid jokey-jokes like in Marvel films.
Verdict: 2 / 5 ★ - Not for me.
