Saint-Narcisse - (2020)

Director: Bruce LaBruce.

Bruce La Bruce's take on the cliché tropes of the gay-motorcyclist and the sexually-molested-church-boy is refreshing.

Father Andrew's character is the most interesting one and the performance by Andreas Apergis is amazing.

But besides that, the film is full of extremely bad dialog writing & acting. I wish it was more campy and less mediocre.

The story if far fetched and the mediocrity of the film making breaks the suspense of disbelief.

But I did like the way Bruce La Bruce shows the church and daily life of church boys. It's different than in other films - it's bolder, and not falling into the clichés of suppressed sexuality by the church.

The character of the gay gay-motorcyclist is quite a copycat of other films though...

Verdict: 2 / 5 ★ - Mediocare.
