Nomadland - (2021)

Director: Chloé Zhao.

When a movie has only good characters I wonder how can it be so good? Where is the conflict, when people are so nice, helping and caring for each other? - Evil is lurking in plain sight, the antagonist in this movie is capitalism and the protagonist is fighting against it. Therefore, it's the most sensitive movie about capitalism I've ever seen.

The casting and acting is what makes this movie great. The sound design is too expensive and distracting, the camera work is just okay, and the editing is excellent.

Fun ride and it made me think.

So I liked it

Spoiler: What I didn't like is the story about the son who committed suicide. The story and acting are heart breaking but to put it in the final act is a cheap manipulation to leave the audience with a strong emotional impact at the end. This story has nothing to do with the protagonist.

Verdict: 4 / 5 ★ - Good.
