Finished reading the 1st Mistborn trilogy for the 2nd time.
I still hold my opinion this is one of the best book series I've ever read.
The 2nd reading was sluggish, as I was already invested in the lore, and the author's use of memories and explanations was redundant this time.
The 1st book is the best, but the last few chapters of the 3rd are the real masterpiece here.
The author has a few assumptions about what's religion and civilization should look like (monotheism, democracy, etc) and some times it gives me the feeling he is not open minded enough to consider other values and ways of living.
From all of his other books (and I read almost all of them) the first trilogy of Mistborn has the most interesting characters and narratives.
Vin is the best character he has ever written and she is so different than other female characters in his other books.
Sazed, Spook, Breeze, Tindwyl, Tensoon and Rashek are all original and well written.
A must read.
