What a fun movie, with great dynamic and performances.
90% of the film is 5 stars.
10% is 2 stars.
And I bet the last 10% is a studio influence because I could see where Wan wanted to go with this film and where it diverted from his original vision.
In a nutshell: you do not win in horror films by overcoming obstacles; you win by failing until there is nothing else to lose.
I really enjoyed the references to The Shining, Sucker Punch and Possession (andrzej zulawski)
