Everything about Kimi is good besides the ending.
I really liked the settings and characters. The story was predictable but nevertheless engaging.
The ending ruined everything because the evil people transitioned from smart and capable to stupid and goofy.
This transition felt really odd and in my understanding it needed to happen in order for the film to resolve in less then 2 hours.
The consequences of this choice is an aggressive erosion of the main character; she overcomes the obstacles because the challenge has become simple and goofy, not because she found new power within herself.
Therefore this film, good as it is, will not be remembered by anybody watching it for more then a day or two.
With more time for development, and with a better ending, it could have been an excellent film.
Verdict: 2.5 / 5 ★ - Average.
