This one was a little disappointing. I expected more, but I think this chapter of the Rebuild Of Evangelion is lacking humor and sexuality.
I did like the narrative but I think it's just taking itself too seriously. I also think the homosexual aspect of it was suppressed and I couldn't relate to it.
One thing I'm not sure about: if it was an homophobic decision to make the 13th angel (the monster) Shinji's gay lover; Is the final boss that will eventually destroy civilization is non other than homosexuality?!
I also didn't like the music choices and the 3D animation.
Verdict: 3 / 5 ★ - Disappointing but dear to me in some way...
