Though the film is not perfect, I really enjoyed the character arcs and the drama between Shinji Kun and the female characters.
The last battle is epic and gave me goosebumps - this time I could relate to Shinji and his epic fight towards adulthood.
I really liked the music choices during the epic and horrific battles - a naïve children music.
Recently I criticized Squid Games for playing light jazz and classical music during the bloody scenes. This film does something similar, but the contrast between the horror and the music actually means so much in the wide context of the film and characters and its not just a gimmick.
Verdict: 4.5 / 5 ★ - Great!
