Kika - (1993)

Director: Pedro Almodóvar.

After a decade, I watched this film for the 2nd time.

I was very angry the film manipulated me to laugh and enjoy a long RAPE scene! (WTF???)

But after continuing watching and analyzing the film I understood Almodóvar actually did a brilliant move: The film talks a lot about the lack of moral values in television violence and how we can lose human empathy when watching television.

So, as we enjoy watching Kika being raped and laugh about it. we become the very thing Almodóvar is criticizing, we are the rapers who hurt Kika, we are Ramón and Nicholas.

Genius!!

Verdict: 5 / 5 ★ - Masterpiece.
