Heart breaking and complicated.
It uses troops and clichés at the beginning but develops them to rich characters and storylines.
I liked how Scud skips forward in time in a few scenes, where the present becomes a memory in the next scene. I think this is a brilliant editing and narrative technique I haven't seen done before in such a way.
Verdict: 4 / 5 ★ - Beautiful.
