COVID-19 - art work during A pandemic

The time of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 proved to be a very productive time for me and I made several art works related to this topic both in still and motion pictures.

I decided to gather all those art works to one new category in my portfolio.

"Red Winter"

Red Winter is a set of infrared still pictures taken in Berlin during the 2020-2021 extreme cold winter in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

"Jewish Fetish"

"Jewish Fetish" is a short funny animation about the border between racism and fetishism of middle eastern Jewish people in Germany.

The film was made during AnimaDoc Workshop in Cinema Transtopia (bi'bak) Berlin 2021.

"That was Berlin"

An video art project to document the changes Berlin experienced due to COVID-19. This is also a collaboration with the musician "Hipless".

"Charging Up"

"Charging Up" is a short vertical movie written and directed by Amir Ovadia Steklov.

The movie tells the story of coming out of depression during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The movie talks about creativity in those difficult times and the importance of friendship and human interaction at times of social distancing.

"The spirits of Hong Kong"

A series of still pictures i took in late February 2020 in Hong Kong.
I felt the anger, despair, helplessness and fear of the people of Hong Kong while I was visiting it between pro-democratic protests and a worldwide pandemic.
I wanted to capture my empathy to the people Hong Kong with my camera. and decided to use advanced shooting techniques in order to create the visual effect i was aiming for.

"Don't be a DICK!"

Short animation by Amir Ovadia Steklov, that investigates the representation of male body image across history and modern porn culture with humour and shocking facts.

I was making this film during the time of lookdown in Berlin and couldn't do it in any other time.

"Lerne Deutsch in meine Küche"

The short film "Lerne Deutsch in meine Küche" directed by Popo Fan and edited by Amir O. Steklov was broadcast on German television channel RBB as part of the program "4 Wänbe Berlin"

It tells a story about cooking and learning German during the time of quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Textures of Taiwan"

A series of still pictures i took in late February 2020 in Taiwan.
I was mesmerizing from the textures and layers of culture, food, history, water, sky and people. I collected my favorite pictures from this journey I had in the beautiful island during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
